Among 1399 persons in 4 districts of Uganda with from 0.11 to 3.00 mg F/litre drinking water incidence of caries was low. Incidence was inversely related to F in water. Caries was more frequent in Asians than in Africans and in primary than in permanent dentition. Incidence of non-fluoride enamel opacities and hypoplasia was lower in areas with high than in areas with low F in water.
