Abstract
The production of four species of Chironomids, including Chironomus anthracinus Zett. and Glyptotendipes paripes (Edw.), was measured in different sections of the mud zone in Loch Leven, Scotland. The mean annual dry weight production of all four species was 29 g/m2 and of C. anthracinus alone 26 g/m2.
