The regulatory effects of two s-triazine herbicides on nutritive composition of seeds and leaves of sweet corn (Zea mays L.)

The study was carried out at Oregon State University, USA. Foliar application of 5 or 2 ppm. simazine or atrazine + wetter, made to 3-week-old seedlings, increased the total N and soluble protein contents and reduced the starch and sugar contents of the leaves significantly. The same trend was noted in seeds but the crude fat content of seeds was not affected.
