The selectivity of post-emergence herbicides for Avena fatua control in spring wheat and barley

The selectivity of post-emergence herbicides for Avena fatua control in spring wheat and barley

Proceedings 11th British weed Control Conference: 988-993

ISSN/ISBN: 1091-8280

In trials during 3 years wheat Atle and 8 barley cvs., sown in March-April, proved tolerant of barban, chlorfenprop-methyl and metoxuron, generally applied in May at rates expected to control A.fatua. Chlorfenprop gave good control at 3.8 kg/ha. Metoxuron at 4.5 kg/ha, applied 43 days after sowing on 20 March 1972 appeared safe in the cvs. Banba, Kristina, Emma, Herta and Julia.
