In trials in the kharif seasons of 1967 and '68 with bajra (Pennisetum typhoides = P. americanum) Hybrid Bajra No. 1, application of 80 and 160 kg N/ha gave grain yields of 1.59-2.09 and 2.07-3.01 t/ha, respectively, compared with 0.59-0.88 t/ha on plots given no N.
