Trifluralin and trifluralin plus linuron as pre-emergence herbicides in cereals in Europe

In Europe, trifluralin at 0.57-0.72 kg/ha pre-em. in wheat and 0.72-0.96 kg/ha post-em. has controlled all annual grasses (except Avena sp.) and many broad-leaved weeds. An e.c. of trifluralin 24% + linuron 12% at 1.44 kg/ha pre-em. has been evaluated since 1970 in winter crops of wheat, barley and rye in Europe. Linuron extends the spectrum of weeds controlled to include Cruciferae and Ranunculaceae, Matricaria sp. and Galium aparine.
