, : Vegetable variety testing in Kenya-tomatoes and capsicums. Acta Horticulturae (33): 15-20

A trial was carried out with 12 tomato cvs to assess their suitability for canning or processing to puree. Yields were seriously reduced by Phytophthora infestans during early growth, and fruits were damaged by sun scorch. Lampadina, San Marzano and Early Red rated highest for juice colour and flavour. In another trial with 14 cvs grown for the fresh market, Hundredfold and Amateur were acceptable.
