Volatile isothiocyanates and vinyl-oxazolidinethione in seed of rape (Brassica napus oleifera) as affected by variety and environment

Seed of spring rape and winter rape grown in different years at various locations in Denmark was analysed for S-containing glucosides. Except for 3 Swedish winter cultivars, statistically significant differences in thioglucoside content were found between varieties; Bronowski contained least. Seed obtained from variety trials showed little effect of geographic location, but clear differences between sites were found in breeder's material grown on contract.
