Winter wheat response to barrier-induced microclimate

Meteorological conditions and plant response of six varieties were observed on selected days both in the field and behind wind shelter. Satanta, Parker and Blueboy had a higher leaf water potential (LWP) and higher photosynthetic rates in shelter than in the open field. In contrast, neither the LWP nor the photosynthetic rate of Caprock was affected by shelter.
