From 4.5 to 8.5 months of age lambs in 2 groups of each sex of 38 to 46 animals were on ley pasture with a supplement of oats, to which the test group of each sex had in addition fresh skimmed milk, 1.5 litres daily for ram and 1 litre for ewe lambs. From 8.5 to 13 months they were housed and their average rations were for test males 2.11 feed units and 254 g digestible crude protein, for test females 1.88 and 212, for control males 1.23 and 120 and for control females 1.05 and 115. At 15 months of age respective yields of raw fleece were 12.1, 9.5, 8.1 and 7.6 kg and of washed wool 5.9, 5.1, 4.1 and 4.2 kg.
