In trials in the winter seasons of 1969-71, 3 dwarf wheat were sown at 50, 100 and 150 kg/ha on 5 dates at 15- to 20-day intervals between late Oct. and early Jan. and were given 80 kg N + 60 kg P2O5 + 40 kg K2O/ha at sowing and 40 kg N/ha was applied as a top-dressing before the 1st irrigation. The effects of sowing dates on grain yields were inconsistent in different years and depended on rainfall and weather conditions.
