A five-year study of the effects of the walnut aphid and the European red mite on Persian walnut productivity in coastal orchards

A five-year study of the effects of the walnut aphid and the European red mite on Persian walnut productivity in coastal orchards

Journal of Economic Entomology 711: 71-74

The effects of Chromaphis juglandicola (Kalt.) and Panonychus ulmi (Koch) on nut production by walnut in coastal orchards in California were determined in single-tree plot tests during 1959-64. Selective pesticide applications were made to control populations of the 2 pests or allow them to develop annually for 3 years, after which both pests were controlled on all trees for 2 years.
