Abstract
For about 100 days from 135 kg liveweight and 1 year of age 6 male buffaloes were given 200 g fish meal, 5 kg chopped oat forage and free access to a liquid feed of molasses with 2.5% fertilizer grade urea. Mean daily intake of DM was 3.1 kg of which the liquid feed supplied 53%. Daily gain was from 365 to 594 g, mean 416 g, and intakes of fish meal, forage and liquid feed were 0.48, 12.02 and 8.87 kg/kg gained. Intakes of DM, crude protein and organic matter were 11.98, 1.32 and 10.46 kg/kg gained.
