Active manganese in the volcanic soils of Chile

Active manganese in the volcanic soils of Chile

Agrochimica 20(1): 46-54

In 42 profiles of Chilean volcanic soils, classified as Inceptisols, Spodosols, Alfisols and Ultisols, average values of available, easily-reducible and active manganese ranged from 4.4 to 7.9, 11 to 212, and 17 to 220 ppm in surface horizons and from 0.4 to 3.2, 4 to 152, and 4 to 153 ppm in clay accumulation horizons, respectively. Available manganese was negatively correlated with pH in KCl.
