Adoptive transfer of immunity to Plasmodium berghei with immune T and B lymphocytes

Adoptive transfer of immunity to Plasmodium berghei with immune T and B lymphocytes

Infection and Immunity 14(1): 184-190

Adoptive transfer of immunity was studied by transference of lymphocytes either B cells or T cells from immune rats 45-50 days after challenge with Plasmodium berghei to susceptible rats one week before challenge with the same dose of P. berghei. The ability of lymphocyte suspensions adoptively to transfer resistance to malarial infection was greatly impaired by the removal from the suspensions of differentiated B-type lymphocytes.
