Acta Horticulturae (55): 179-184

An investigation into the economics of large-scale vineyard production in Croatia (Yugoslavia)

In 1972 Yugoslavia ranked tenth in the world in area of vineyards, ninth in quality of grapes produced, tenth in quantity of wine produced and thirteenth in grape yields per ha. Nearly one third of all vineyards are in Croatia. Since 1959 large scale vineyards called Poljoprivrednoindustrijski Kombinat (PIK) have become more numerous. Detailed results for 2 kombinats are given.
