Analysis of price movements on the Belgian apple market

, : Analysis of price movements on the Belgian apple market. Acta Horticulturae (77): 191-198

The size of the European apple and pear crop had an increasing influence on prices of apples in Belgium during the 1960-1975 period. The common price and market regulation in the EEC since 1967 added to this interdependency. In order to increase returns, growers retained apples in storage for varying periods of time and placed varying quantities on the market to ensure the highest possible returns. Estimates were obtained for demand relations of the three marketing seasons.
