Study of microbiological and enzymic processes showed that improvement practices that regulate the aeration and water regime of these excessively wet, fine-textured soils activate biological processes: the number of all major groups of microorganisms increases, the activity of soil enzymes (invertase, phosphatase, catalase, dehydrogenase) intensifies, and CO2 liberation increases.
