Bulk storage processing: technological development through integrated market research and food engineering programs

, : Bulk storage processing: technological development through integrated market research and food engineering programs. Acta Horticulturae (40): 315-325

Seasonal restrictions in the fruit and vegetable processing industries result in economic losses to growers and processors. A new concept in processing technology was developed, through integrated market research and food engineering programmes, to defer final product processing and eliminate seasonal related inefficiencies in processing plants.
