Causes and criteria of resistance to air pollution in Norway spruce, Picea abies (L.) Karst. III. Tolerance of toxic materials (internal resistance)

Causes and criteria of resistance to air pollution in Norway spruce, Picea abies (L.) Karst. III. Tolerance of toxic materials (internal resistance)

European Journal of Forest Pathology 7(5): 303-319

Resistance to sulphur dioxide fumigation was studied in selected apparently resistant clones (R clones) and grafted clones not selected for resistance (N clones). The buffer capacity of unfumigated R-clone needles, especially during July and August but also in winter, was significantly greater than that found in N clones.
