The spring wheat Belotserkovskaya-198 and 1 compact and 2 erect mutants were grown under light intensity of 10 000 lux produced by fluorescent lamps supplemented with (a) incandescent lamps or (b) xenon lamps. (b) accelerated growth by 7-14 days and decreased leaf pigment contents, stem dry weight, ear length and dry weight, root dry weight, grain weight/ear and spikelet number/ear compared with (a).
