At Aucayacu, near Tingo Maria, Huanuco, Peru, plots of banana (variety Isla) were treated twice at a 7-month interval with aldicarb (Temik 10G) in doses of 12.5, 24.0, 37.5 and 75.0 g/mat, with aldrin 2.5%D at 90 g/mat or left untreated. Aldicarb was effective against Radopholus similis (and the black weevil Cosmopolites sordidus), reducing the populations for as long as 6 to 7 months after the 2nd treatment. The effectiveness increased with dose.
