Chemical control of shootfly, Atherigona species in spring maize by seed treatment and soil application of granular systemic insecticides

In trials with maize, soil application of 0.74 kg mephospholan 10 G a.i./ha was most effective against the incidence of Atherigona spp. and gave grain yields of 4.05 t/ha, compared with 1.49 t without insecticides.
