Classification of felling areas and technological zoning of the forest resource as bases for technical and technological planning in wood harvesting



Revista Padurilor Industria Lemnului, Celuloza si Hirtie, Silvicultura si Exploatarea Padurilor 90(3): 156-160 + smries.



Describes a notational classification of the topographic and silvicultural characteristics of forest sites, and its application to the planning of principal fellings in two forest districts in Rumania in 1974. For short-term planning (up to 5 years) the felling areas are classified into a hierarchy of type groups, types and subtypes according to location, accessibility and type of product respectively.
