Colostrum-derived antibodies in calves born to dams vaccinated against foot and mouth disease

Colostrum-derived antibodies in calves born to dams vaccinated against foot and mouth disease

Bulletin de l' Office International des Epizooties 83(3/4): 247-261

90 calves born to dams "plurivaccinated" against foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) were obtained at 15 days of age, when they were examined serologically for antibodies against O, A and C types, and again at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 months of age. At 15 days, 48% of the calves had antibodies against all 3 types, 33% against 1-2 types, and only 18% were devoid of antibodies.
