Combining ability of downy mildew resistant lines in pearl millet

Combining ability of downy mildew resistant lines in pearl millet

Indian Journal of Genetics and Plant Breeding 36(3): 403-409

ISSN/ISBN: 0019-5200

A study of general and specific combining ability for grain yield, number of days to flowering, tiller number, plant height, and ear height and circumference among five male-sterile lines with resistance to Sclerospora graminicola and twelve testers of diverse origin involved in 60 crosses, revealed that the male-sterile lines MS5054A, MS5071A and MS5141A showed the best combining ability.
