Computer simulation of bulk drying of peanut pods

A deep bed drying computer model was developed based on the vapour-liquid diffusion thin layer model. The bed was divided into several layers of finite thickness. The model predicted moisture content in each layer and temperature and relative humidity of the air leaving each layer at any time. It was modified to neglect sorption effects caused by high relative humidity air in the upper zones of the drier, due to unavailability of sorption diffusivities.
