Considerations on the effects of the EC-enlargement for the Common Market policy for fruit and vegetables

, : Considerations on the effects of the EC-enlargement for the Common Market policy for fruit and vegetables. Acta Horticulturae (77): 411-423

Membership of the EEC for Greece, Portugal and Spain will cast doubt on the workability of the present intervention and price reference system of the common organization of the market for fresh fruit and vegetables. This paper deals with the consequences of an extension of the EEC to include the above-mentioned countries, upon the monthly external trade balances and degrees of self-sufficiency with regard to the products coming under these regulations.
