50 oestrous gilts and 33 sows, in which oestrus had been induced, were subjected rectally to electrical stimulation at the time of insemination. In stimulated gilts, the CR was 86.0% v 77.3 in 139 unstimulated, oestrous controls, and litter size was 9.77 v 9.34. The CR was 90.9% in stimulated sows v 82.7 for 85 controls, and litter size was 11.93 v 11.87.
