Current crossing with Holstein-Friesian and Brown Swiss cattle from North America and Charolais and Limousin cattle from France for genetic improvement of the cattle population of Yugoslavia

Stocarstvo 30(9/10): 283-293, 265

It is estimated that in 1990, the annual milk requirement of Yugoslavia will amount to 8.28 million t. To produce this quantity, the mean milk yield of 2.3 million dairy cows will have to rise from 2100 l./cow in 1975 to 3600 l.
