Analysis of the F2 of eleven lines of Red Bobs monosomic for chromosomes 1A, 1B, 1D, 2D, 3D, 4A, 4D, 5A, 6A, 6D and 7B, crossed with Sharbati Sonora, revealed that (1) chromosomes 4D and 5A possess minor genes for seed colour, (2) 1A, 2D, 4A and 4D possess awn-inducing genes, (3) 7B possesses ineffective hemizygous genes for glume colour and tyrosinase activity, (4) 1D and 4A possess genes influencing protein content, (5) 1A, 1B, 1D, 3D, 4A, 4D, 5A, 6A, 6D and 7B possess genes influencing plant height, (6) 1B, 1D, 2D, 4A, 4D, 5A, 6A, 6D and 7B possess genes influencing peduncle length, (7) 2D, 5A, 6A and 7B possess genes influencing the number of days to heading, (8) 1A, 1D, 2D and 7B possess genes affecting spikelet number, (9) 1A, 1B, 2D, 3D, 4A, 4D, 5A, 6D and 7B possess genes affecting spikelet fertility, (10) 1B, 2A, 5A, 6A and 7B possess genes for spike length, (11) 1A, 1B, 4A, 5A, 6A, 6D and 7B possess genes for spike density, (12) 1A, 1B, 1D, 2D, 4D, 5A, 6D and 7B possess genes affecting grain weight, (13) 4A possesses genes affecting grain volume, (14) 1A, 2D, 3D, 4D, 6D and 7B possess genes affecting grain length, and (15) 2D, 3D and 4D possess genes affecting grain breadth.
