In a pot trial, Guinea grass was sown on 16 Dec. 1971 at 10 kg/ha, and the seed harvested at weekly intervals during May-June of 1972 and 1973. The heads were divided into (a) completely emerged, (b) partially emerged, and (c) empty heads. It was found that (a) were responsible for most seed production. Seed samples from different harvest dates were examined for purity and germination.
