Different contents of energy and calcium added in the form of grit to appetite in feeds for laying hens. 1. Effect on egg yield, feed intake and egg quality

Pol' nohospodarstvo 23(6): 546-555

1. Shaver Starcross 288 hens were given feeds with 3% Ca and supplying metabolizable energy 11 515, 11 975 or 12 350 kJ/kg alone or with Ca grits to appetite. The grits had no effect on intake or feed, egg yield or weight of eggs but weight and thickness of egg shell were greater with 11 515 and 11 975 than with 12 350 kJ/kg.
