Bulletin of the Morioka Tobacco Experiment Station (11): 53-82



Plants of Burley tobacco Burley 21, Burley 1, Ky 10, Ky 14 and BT 101 were grown at (a) Morioka, Japan on volcanic ash soil, (b) Okayama, Japan and (c) Bucheon, Korea on granitic soils in 1973. Diurnal temp. change was highest and temp. at tobacco maturing stage was lowest at (a). Mean total leaf numbers for 5 were 42.4, 36.1 and 38.6 at (a), (b) and (c), resp., and those for Burley 1 were 50 at (a) and 38 at (b) and (c).
