Economic feasibility of heating Maryland broiler houses with solar energy

Economic feasibility of heating Maryland broiler houses with solar energy

The economic feasibility of heating Maryland broiler houses with solar energy was examined utilizing simulation and present value cost effectiveness. simulation was used to analyze (1) weather data; (2) building heat requirements and (3) the portion of total heating needs to be supplied by each solar collection storage and distribution system. present value cost effectiveness was applied to the simulation results to determine when the optimum combination of solar collection, storage and distribution units (solar system) would become less expensive than conventional fuels over a 20 year period.
