Effect of copper and boron on some physiological processes and on yield quality in maize plants

In pot trials in 1969-70, maize was sown after seed treatment by soaking for 24 h in 5 or 50 mg % H3BO4 or CuSO4.5H2O. With the lower concentration, photosynthesis rate and chlorophyll and bound water contents at various stages during growth were increased while transpiration rate was decreased. B decreased respiration rate during early growth stages while Cu increased it at all stages.
