Effect of different amounts of dietary protein and added synthetic lysine on free amino acids in plasma of fattening pigs. 1. Values of individual free amino acids in plasma

1. Control pigs had 12.6% protein in their diet at the end of fattening. Experimental groups had a cereal diet with vitamins and minerals, with 10 to 10.4% protein; lysine or saccharin, 3.6 and 1.2 g/kg, or both were added. With less dietary protein, lysine, methionine, tyrosine, histidine and aspartic acid in fasting blood plasma were less than for controls.
