Rooted cuttings were grown at 5 N levels (0, 64, 120, 192 and 256 p.p.m.) and 6 shade intensities (full sunlight, 47, 51, 63, 76 and 92% shade). The number of leaves, and length and weight of plants were significantly affected by N levels. The fitting of Capo's yield-nutrient relationship curve Y = A/1 + B(C-X)2 revealed maximum expected values at N levels of 164 to 210 p.p.m., depending on the shade intensity.
