Seeds of Phaseolus, Vigna, Pachyrrhizus (4 species) Centrosema (6) and Adenodolichos contained large and variable amounts of the nonprotein amino acids S-methylcysteine, p-aminophenylalanine and canavanine. The contents varied between cultivars and botanical forms and also according to ecological conditions.
