Effect of method of presentation of fodder on digestibility in the pony

Effect of method of presentation of fodder on digestibility in the pony

Annales de Zootechnie 24(2): 237-242

In ponies given normal, ground or pelleted hay consisting of grasses with a small proportion of lucerne, digestibility of DM and CF was decreased by grinding but protein digestibility was not affected. Pelleting after grinding decreased DM digestibility further and also decreased protein digestibility.
