Effect of nutritional level between weaning and mating on the reproductive performance of multiparous sows

Effect of nutritional level between weaning and mating on the reproductive performance of multiparous sows

Journees de la Recherche Porcine en France 1976: 127-131

Three groups each of 20 Large White females which had produced 1-5 litters were removed from their latest litters after a 5-wk suckling period, were fasted for 24 h, and were then fed 1.5, 2.5 or 3.5 kg resp. daily of a diet containing 12.8% crude protein + 2.8 Kcal digestible energy/kg until fertile mating at the 1st or 2nd oestrus after weaning; during pregnancy, all sows were fed the experimental diet at 2.5 kg/day.
