Onion bulbs, Patna Red, were planted 10 - 40 cm apart in rows 30 cm apart, at 2-weekly intervals between 1 October and 12 November. Total seed yields were highest at the closest spacing, with the 2 early planting dates, but seed yields/plant were highest with wide spacing.
