In field trials at Yousafwala in the Punjab in 1972-3 the effectiveness of various insecticides for the control of maize borer (C. partellus) was evaluated. Furadan-10G Nuracron-40EC Supracide-40EC and diazinon-10G increased grain yields to 120.0, 100.7, 92.9 and 83.8 maunds/ac, respectively, compared with 61.7 maunds for endrin and 33.1 maunds for the untreated control.
