Effect of type of diet and sex on the highest, average and lowest daily gains during fattening of young cattle from 5 to 11 months old

Effect of type of diet and sex on the highest, average and lowest daily gains during fattening of young cattle from 5 to 11 months old

Poljoprivredna Znanstvena Smotra 42: 315-329

In the trial described above the greatest mean daily weight gains of bullocks were 1.51 kg on mixed feed and 1.73 kg on concentrates alone, showing both the good fattening potential of the cattle and the possibility of further improvement by selection. Corresponding best rates of gain for heifers were 1.23 and 1.35 kg.
