Effect of type of protein in the feed on amino acid composition of faeces of preruminant calves

Effect of type of protein in the feed on amino acid composition of faeces of preruminant calves

Annales de Biologie Animale, Biochimie, Biophysique 17(1): 71-83

A total of 27 male Friesian calves in 7 groups of 3 or 6 were fed on milk replacers with about 25% crude protein in DM. The control diet was entirely of skimmed milk and the others were based on fish protein concentrate, soya protein concentrate, fermented soya protein, horse beans, potatoes or yeast. The calves given fermented soya protein were in 3 subgroups of 2 and the control group was in 2 subgroups of 3.
