Effect of urea on biochemical characteristics and morphological composition of blood and on milk production of cows

Effect of urea on biochemical characteristics and morphological composition of blood and on milk production of cows

Sbornik Rabot, Leningradskii Veterinarnyi Institut (38): 22-28, 326

2 matched groups of (i) 18 experimental and (ii) 17 control cows received during 6 Feb.-30 May 1970 a common ration of 5 kg meadow hay, 15 kg grass silage, 15 kg fodder beet and 3 kg concentrates daily/cow; group (i) received in addition 60 g urea daily/cow. The daily crude protein intakes of (i) and (ii) were 1071 and 915 g/cow respectively (against a recommended allowance of 1080 g for cows yielding 10-12 kg daily).
