Effect of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhiza (Endogone mosseae) on the population dynamics of the root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne incognita and Meloidogyne hapla)

In glasshouse experiments, the effects of prior inoculation with Endogone mosseae on the population development of Meloidogyne incognita in tomato, oat and tobacco and of M. hapla in carrot were investigated. The proportions of larvae developing to the adult stage in mycorrhizal plants were significantly reduced compared with plants inoculated with the nematode alone.
