Effect of vitamin A nutritional status on the growth of oestrogen-primed chick oviduct

Effect of vitamin A nutritional status on the growth of oestrogen-primed chick oviduct

Biochemical Journal 154(1): 249-251

Female White Leghorn chickens from 1 day old were fed on a diet deficient in vitamin A until they ceased to grow. Then one group was kept on the deficient diet and 2 groups were given the same diet with retinyl acetate 40 mu g/day or retinoic acid 10 mu g/g diet day. Controls were given the diet and retinyl acetate from 1 day old.
