Voprosy Pitaniya (5): 21-24



Male albino rats 1 to 23 months old and weighing 50 to 470 g were fed on a normal diet with milk and carotene as sources of vitamin A or, for the last 2 weeks of the experiment, were given additional vitamin A 1000 IU and tocopherol 30 mg daily. Alanine, threonine, histidine, cystine, leucine with isoleucine and arginine did not differ in the brain of young or old rats.
