IAC12.2 suffered greater dehydration than Cruzeta Serido and accumulated more free proline. On the 14th day of water stress, when the water content of Cruzeta Serido was 46% and that of IAC12.2 41%, there was a large increase in free proline, 107 and 111 times more, respectively, compared with the control.
